Alyssa Maitoza is a Brooklyn based, New England born and raised performer, choreographer, director, and teacher. She is a singer/dancer/actress, taurus, world traveler, thalassophile, foodie, and activist.

Prior to making the move to NYC, Alyssa just wrapped up her fourth contract with Norwegian Cruise Line as a lead production cast vocalist. She has been to over 50 countries and counting! On board her last ship, she created and debuted her first solo show; “Thank You For the Music” – a cabaret featuring some of her favorite Broadway hits.

Alyssa recently worked as a Director/Choreographer at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in Allentown, PA for their Halloween themed shows: “The Monsters are Coming, Charlie Brown!” and “Spectral Sisters.” Alyssa has experience teaching and choreographing musical theatre, jazz, tap, and ballet, across her home state, Massachusetts. Previously, she performed at New Bedford Festival Theatre, right in her hometown in MA, in their productions of Mamma Mia, Beauty and the Beast (where she made her #swingnation debut!), West Side Story, and The Best of Times.

Alyssa graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Musical Theatre and a B.A. in Dance from Rhode Island College in Providence, RI, where she received the RIC Theatre Award and Presidential honors. Some of her favorite RIC credits include Beauty and the Beast (Belle), The Little Mermaid (Ariel), The Rocky Horror Show, Evil Dead the Musical (Linda), Quilters, and The Cherry Orchard (Anya). She was a proud member of the RIC Dance Company where she worked with artists such as Billy Siegenfield and Pantos Project Dance. Alyssa was also president of the RIC Musical Theatre Company and the Student Theatre Organization.

Alyssa fell in love with music and performing at a young age, while watching her grandfather perform on stages across New England as an accomplished pianist and popular oldies band member. He brought her up on stage one day at 2 years old, and she’s been hooked ever since. As she grew up, in addition to dancing and performing in children’s theatre, she sang for a non-profit community service vocal troupe and loved the power of sharing the performing arts throughout her community, and was inspired by the profound impact the arts could have.

In addition to her career, Alyssa loves to read, knit, listen to new music, play cards, spend time with family, and meet new people. If she could, though, she would be in the ocean 24/7 soaking up the sun!

Alyssa has recently moved to NYC after two years of world traveling & performing. She is really enjoying having her land legs back and making a home here in the city, and is looking forward to her next chapter as a performer and creative!
